Our 300A ESCs default firmware is without throttle calibration, which is compatible with Maytech remote (1-2ms throttle signal range)
We also have another firmware version that with throttle calibration, can rotate motor in single direction, or forward and reverse directions for electric surfboard, efoil, rc boat, rescue boat, kayak, etc., water sports.
1. How to update different firmware for Maytech MTSF300A-OPTO and MTSF300A-WP?
If you need to update the firmware, you can contact us for the firmware and we will send to you, or when you place order, you can send email to agnes@maytech.cn we will send you the firmware.
Below is the updating process:
1). Open the software, connect progcard and ESC to your computer, and connect power for ESC, you will see both "ESC" and "Busy" turn to blue color.
2). Click "General", and then choose "Update Settings".
3). Find the firmware you need to be updated to.
4.) The firmware will be updated finished until transmission bar is 100% done.
2. What is the difference for firmware with & without calibration?
- Default firmware without throttle calibration: Single direction, 1-2ms PWM signal;
- Firmware with throttle calibration: can be adjusted single direction and adjusted to dual direction (forward and reverse) direction.
3. How to adjust single direction, forward and reverse directions in firmware with throttle calibration?
Take MTSKR1905WF remote as example to work with the ESC.
1). Single direction: 1-2ms PWM signal;
Firstly turn off the power for ESC, Choose "Esurf" mode on remote, long press throttle trigger.
Then connect power for ESC, wait for about 2s, the ESC will has "2 quick beep" sound, release the throttle trigger when ESC has first "2 quick beep" sound, and ESC will has second "2 quick beep" sound.
About after 2s of 2 times "2 quick beep" sound, the ESC will has a different sound means the single direction calibration is finished. (Please refer to below video)
2). Forward and reverse direction:
1.5ms, 0 speed position,
1.0-1.5ms, reverse direction, 1.0ms is the max reverse speed position,
1.5-2.0ms, forward direction, 2.0ms is the max forward speed position.
Firstly turn off the power for ESC, Choose "Esk8" mode on remote, long press throttle trigger.
Then connect power for ESC, wait for about 2s, the ESC will has "2 quick beep" sound, release the throttle trigger when ESC has first "2 quick beep" sound, and ESC will has second "2 quick beep" sound, then "1 beep" sound.
About after 2s of 2 times "2 quick beep" adn "1 beep" sound, the ESC will has a different sound means the forward and reverse direction calibration is finished. (Please refer to below video)
When you push throttle trigger and brake trigger the direction will be different.
